Foot care

Analyzing the intricacies of the foot can be a daunting task. With 30 articulating surfaces and 26 bones with two sesamoids, the foot is a complex system. The Diers Formetric and Pedoscan simplifies the analysis. Using a high resolution force plate both dynamic and static pressures are recorded. The Pedoscan has the capability to record forces at the rate of 30 Hz. This rapid frequency produces high resolution results in both dynamic and static modes.

The practitioner can visualize not only the pressures on the plantar surface of the foot but also the percentage of pressure or weight in four quadrants, right and left; forefoot and rearfoot with a center of mass displayed. The scan is taken over a set time to reflect a more accurate result. Functional, Diabetic, and corrective foot orthotics can be prescribed more accurately with the Diers Formetric Pedoscan. This mode also enables the capture of movement of the center of mass of the body and plantar surface foot pressure in various activities.

In dynamic mode the practitioner can record the variables of walking or running., following the instantaneous center of pressure, the time of foot contact and compare the left and right side in these parameters.
