Leg length discrepancies

With the Diers Formetric 3D/4D imaging system, an effectual method for analyzing actual leg length discrepancy vs hip malposition due to muscle imbalance or scoliotic deformity is available. The correlation between pelvic torsion and pelvic tilt can be analyzed as well as trunk imbalance and inclination. Utilization of the Diers Simulation Platform enables the practitioner to see the effect on the spine and pelvis of altered leg length, dorsiflexion/plantarflexion of the foot, and/or inversion/eversion of the foot at the actual foot axis.

The Diers Formetric 3D/4D enables both the practitioner and patient to visualize the result of prescriptive changes considered in the ongoing treatment. The optimization of the prescription can be accomplished by using incremental adjustments (1 mm) on the Simulation Platform and rescanning the patient. The rapidity of the scanning process enables the practitioner to be more precise in the prescription decided on.
